MMMMMM a box!!!!

Ok ok ok I'm seriously back now, I promise!!!! So as of about 10 minutes ago I have broke down and signed up for a monthly subscription to a "box" program. If you have no clue what I'm talking about I'm referencing the idea of "Birch Box". If you still have no clue let me indulge. A box program is where you sign up to become a member of this program. You pay a fee once a month, and this company will send you a box of either samples or full size merch. The idea is for these companies to partner with the sellers of these products to get people to try it and then in turn buy it. Most offer the option to buy the full size product at a discounted price on their website. Some of these programs are pricey and some are cheap. You have to really look into each before you bite the bullet. So yesterday most of my day was spent watching YouTube videos of people sharing their hauls form these box programs. After much research, I decided to sign up for Julep Maven. It's a nail polish, beauty program that creates their own nail polishes. And I must say they have some pretty bad ass colors. The program is $19.99 per box and you have the option of skipping the month if you don't want the box. Your also guaranteed at the least $40 worth of product. So no matter what your getting your moneys worth, and shipping is always free. I signed up using a promo code, so my first box was only a penny. Yes one red cent, and again my shipping was free. So I'm gonna see what my first haul is like and then either skip a month or cancel. Now here's the tricky tricky catch, if you want to skip or cancel your month you have to do it by a certain time or they automatically bill you and send your box. But that's why I have my handy dandy schedule on my phone. When you initially sign up they give you a quiz to determine your style profile, I happen to be a bombshell, but we knew that already. So they match you up with product that you'll be naturally drawn to. And you can always switch up your style if you decide you don't wanna be boho chic anymore! I'm quite stoked about this program if you can't tell, but we'll see next week when my box comes and I open up my new product. I'll more than likely do a haul video and paint some swatches so everyone can see the quality of the product. Oh yes and BTW if you would like to join go through the link I'll post, use promo code PENNY and your box will only cost a penny too. If anything, order your box, get it, and then cancel. You just got $40 bucks worth of product for a penny. And the reason i ask you to use the link is because they have a great referral program. For every 2 peeps you referr, you get a free box. Soooo if you join under me,the more credits i get, the more often I can get more boxes and do a video haul so you can see the product. I wanna try something new, so help a sister out and happy painting.

Better late than never....right????

OK so it's been a hot minute since I've had a post. But seriously life has been so hectic around this household. I swear since the moment we stepped foot off the plane from Honduras, we've been visiting with what feels like every family member we have. Now that everyone is back to their own homes I get a chance to breathe and fill ya in. So the house hunting has officially begun for Krys and I. We've chosen a realtor, and she has sent a list consisting of three homes to me. What she doesn't know is that I have a list myself, containing almost 30 homes we're interested in.Surprise for her cause I haven't mentioned a list to her. So now that I have this magnificent list, we have to go see each of these homes. Of course running through my head is "what if I like this but not this about this house?","what if I love the house but not the location?" and this is just the beginning of the questions going through this little cabeza of mine. So since I began to look at the options , I've also began to shop on "Amazon". Which is turning out to be quite dangerous.I have another mile long list of things that I will not be able to live without in our new home. What this is all coming down to is that Krys will be wishing he was highly intoxicated all the time until this whole process is over with. So my next investment is a huge supply of alcohol for my wonderful husband. I've also been "pinning" like a maniac. My pin total is now up to over 2,500 pins. We have craft crap all over our house, and a pantry full of ingredients to make all sorts of "healthy" recipes. I'm not the next Martha Stewart but I must say I can make a mean fork ring. On that note I shall get back to my crafting and keep you posted. Muchos besitos, Nicole ;)

We're back in the states!!!!

Ok so I have been a little busy with our vacation and haven't had time to post....sorry :( So now that I have a second to breathe let me catch you up on the big adventure to Central America. So Monday we left, now we flew out of Miami, so a 5 hour drive south, then got on the plane for 2 more hours and arrived in beautiful San Pedro Sula, Honduras. My son did amazing with the whole travel thing. I completely worried for nothing. Which was a huge relief. We spent 2 amazing days at a resort on a gorgeous island called Roatan. Then came back to San Pedro Sula. Now if your the type of person that can't stand hot humid weather, then Honduras ain't the place for you. When I tell you I was sweating from every pore on every part of my body, I ain't joking. That place is friggin HOT. My poor son got a serious heat rash. We've been having to give him cool baths and covering him with hydrocortisone. And then my camera quit working the last 3 days. But we had back up, thank ya sweet baby Jesus. Other than that it was absolutely amazing, breathtaking, I don't even know how else to describe it. There aren't any words to depict the whole experience. It was definetly eye opening, I can say that I am so thankful for everything that we have. And the simple things like warm running water, electricity, our health. I can't tell you how heartbreaking it was to see young children playing shoeless in dirty clothes, living in a hut in the mountains. This definetly is a place I'm visiting much more often, just spending time in those surroundings is so humbling. I'm planning on doing some mission work, I've even been thinking about going back to school for teaching, so I can go over there to educate these amazingly strong children, so they can better themselves and their futures. This definetly was a bucket list trip. I'm so happy that I could take my son to see were his roots stem from. One day he can look back at all the pictures and he'll understand and appreciate it. So yes Honduras was overly amazing, and we had a blast. I'm so grateful for the experiences, and now......back to reality.

The countdown is on

So in two days we will be in the hot humid country of Honduras. I have almost everything packed, ok not really but I have it done in my head. And what makes things even more of a "challenge" Krys, my other half, is working everyday until we leave. Although he isn't much of a help anyways, ya know typical man. But he comes home from work today and tells me we need to pick the rental car up at 8am on Monday. Were supposed to be on the road to Miami at 8am on Monday. So I sucked up my female hormones and saved him the bitching and just told him he was to make sure were on our flight on time. He then tells me that the price of our rental has doubled because he didn't input the correct drop off destination for the rental. Again typical man thing. So he then proceeds to tell me that were not going to get a rental, were just going to take a shuttle bus all the way to Miami. At this point I'm quite content just staying in Florida in a rented hotel room for 8 days and pretending were in the rainforests of South America, although I really really need to get far away from Ocala for a bit, I'll save that whole situation for another time. So at this point I'm just going to continue packing. I will have my big sun hat on my head, oversized sunnys on my face with my child on my hip come Monday morning and hope that Krys has a form of transportation to Miami for us. Until then I'm submerged in luggage and clothing. Enjoy yourselves the rest of the weekend peeps and I'll keep ya posted.   Muchos besos, Nicole

Day 2 dun dun dun

So some of you who know me are aware of this big out of country trip were going on. Yes, I'm being very brave and taking my can't sit still,1 year old, child on a plane to visit a foreign country. Now I don't know how I have let my man talk me into this whole thing, but this will be the first time flying for my son. Keep in mind he's 1!!!!! So not only am I mentally stressing, I am having to pack for 3 people. I'm in dire need of a drink just talking about this. So yesterday I braved the wide white trash world of Walmart to get a few last minute things. And it seemed as though the more I kept thinking about what we needed I kept mentally adding more to my list, and just kept walking circles in the store of doom. Needless to say we leave first thing Monday morning and I have a list the friggin size of an oompa loompa. No matter what I can't forget to pack the jack daniels and horse tranquilizers. Enjoy your Saturday peeps and I'll keep ya updated on the progress of this trip to the nut house, I mean Honduras.      Muchos besos, Nicole ;)

HOLA!!!!!

Hello all! This is my first blog, so bear with me as I get this whole process down pat. So as you can tell by the title of my blog I am currently a stay at home momma. Which I absolutely love, I get to be with my son 24/7. Ok so yes I do need my sanity every now and then, and enjoy a little bit of time away from the monster. And also as the title suggests, I don't do everything the way June Cleaver would. So with all this new "free" time on my hands, I figured I would take advantage and blog a bit, and give everyone a peek into the trials and tribulations of being an uber fab domestic engineer. I hope you enjoy and stay tuned.    muchos besos, Nicole
